Soft Bodies, Slow Weekend
Save my spot
A winter weekend for women and non-binary healers

Soft bodies, slow weekend

Find time after the chaos of the holidays to come back to yourself. Sauna, eat nourishing food, rest with intention, and tend to your body in a way that makes sense to you.

When: Fri, Feb 5 to Sun, Feb 7, 2027 (2 nights)

You hold everyone else all week.

Many therapist retreats are financially inaccessible to most. The message ends up reinforcing that rest is a luxury for the people who can afford to buy it.

Being tired in this work isn't a personal failing. It's what happens when a profession built on care runs inside systems built on productivity quotas, thin reimbursement, and the expectation that helpers should need nothing.

You need a few days where nothing is asked of you, with good food, soft blankets, and people who get it. We priced this weekend so that clinicians in private practice, community mental health, and nonprofits can actually come.

Who this weekend is for

Come if

You're a woman or non-binary person working in mental health, as a therapist, counselor, social worker, psychologist, peer specialist, or another kind of healer, and you're tired in a way a day off doesn't touch.

You want rest, good food, and good company

You're comfortable sharing a house with a small, friendly group.

Maybe skip it if

You're looking for continuing education credit or a clinical training. This is a retreat, not a CE event.

You want an intensive group process. Nobody is working on anybody here.

You're after a luxury spa. This is a cozy cabin, not a resort.

What the weekend feels like

A loose sketch, not a schedule. Every activity is optional, including the ones we planned.

Friday
Arrive and exhale

Roll in anytime after 3pm, find your room, and put your phone somewhere inconvenient. Dinner is something warm, and the evening is as quiet or as chatty as you like.

Saturday
Slow on purpose

A long breakfast, then games, easy activities, and a reflection circle where you can share, listen, or nap. An optional massage is available as an add-on.

Sunday
Leave when you're ready

One more unhurried breakfast, an optional closing circle, and some long Minnesota goodbyes. We will wrap things up by noon.

Inside a cedar sauna: a wooden bench, a water bucket with a ladle, and a stone-filled electric heater
TEND TO YOUR BODY

Your body has been holding everyone, too.

Hours in a chair, a nervous system on call, shoulders up around your ears. This weekend is for the body that carries all of it, with no goals and no expectations.

The sauna. A cedar sauna, there whenever you want it, for as long or as briefly as you like.

A massage. Optional, and booked as an add-on.

Slow mornings. Long breakfasts and good coffee watching the sunrise over the lake (or sleeping in!)

Naps. They're on the schedule. So is doing nothing at all.

Warmth. A real fire, thick blankets, and a couch with your name on it.

Every body is welcome here, in every size, shape, and ability. Please note that unfortunately, this cabin is not wheelchair accessible.

Where you'll land

A lake cabin with a fire going, soft places to sit, and coffee within arm's reach.

Living room with a lit brick fireplace, leather couches, chunky knit blankets, and oars hanging on the wall
Coffee maker and ceramic canisters on a granite counter under warm cabinet lighting

Your host

Meet your host

Hannah Kidder, LPCC, has spent 20 years in the mental health field in various capacities. She is deeply passionate about client autonomy, harm reduction, radical self care, and talking about systemic oppression. This weekend, she's facilitating the games and reflection, and she is also a guest at her own table.

Victoria is in charge of the kitchen. She loves to care for others through food, and we are lucky to be recipients of her loving creations.

Questions you might have

Who is this weekend for?

This retreat is for healers in the mental health field who are women or non-binary. We're building the room around that on purpose: a small group, shared bedrooms, and a rare chance to be cared for without managing anyone else's comfort. If that's you, we'd love to have you.

I'm a man in the field. Can I come?

Not to this one. This weekend is for women and non-binary healers. If you'd like to hear about future retreats, join the interest list and we'll let you know.

Can I bring my spouse or partner?

If they are a fellow helper or healer they can certainly come. Please be mindful that this is a retreat centered on solitude and reconnecting with yourself. If you are interested in booking a romantic getaway at the cabin, please inquire! We offer a discount for helping professionals.

Can I bring my child/infant?

Not this time. If you are interested in a family getaway at the cabin, please inquire! We offer a discount for helping professionals.

Do I have to talk about anything?

No. Reflection is offered, never required. You can share, listen, or skip it and read by the window.

Is this for CE credit?

No. This is a retreat, not a continuing education event.

Is the sauna safe for me?

Heat isn't right for every body. If you're pregnant or have a heart, blood pressure, or heat-sensitivity condition, check with your own provider first. Using the sauna is always optional, and you can step out any time.

What about food allergies and dietary needs?

Tell us when you sign up, and Victoria will plan the menu around it.

What's the drive like in February?

It's a lake cabin in a Wisconsin winter, so we'll send arrival details and a weather plan the week before. If a storm makes the road unsafe, we'll reschedule or refund you in full, whichever you prefer.

What if the weekend doesn't fill?

We need at least 4 people to run it. If we're not there by Dec 7, we'll cancel and refund you in full.

What if I need to cancel?

Plans change, and we get that. Here's how it works:

By Dec 7: a full refund of everything you've paid.

After Dec 7: we'll refund what you've paid if we can fill your spot from the waitlist. If we can't, you can transfer your spot to another therapist at no charge.

Emergencies and illness: talk to us. We'd rather be human about it than quote a policy at you.

Come as you are. Leave when you're ready.

Six spots, one weekend. Save yours and we'll send the details.
